Mon, Feb 11, 2008
AsiaOne

Garden Culture Singapore will jointly organise a new series of gardening sharing sessions with the National Parks Board (NParks) and National Library Board (NLB) from February.

Kicking off the series will be a talk on Growing Roses for the amateur

Date: Feb 23, Saturday
Time: 3 to 4 pm
Place: Multi-purpose room, B1, Central Lending Library
Speaker: Mr Linus Loh

About the talk
Growing roses doesn't have to be a challenge in tropical Singapore. For busy working adults, knowing how to choose the right roses to grow in your own garden is a definite time and money saver! Can't get enough of seeing for yourself those tricks that can improve the growing conditions of your rose plants? Come see a short demonstration that will also guide you step-by-step to picking the correct rose plant and pruning techniques.
At the end of this talk, you'll even be able to recognise and distinguish a grafted from a non-grafted rose plant.

About the Speaker
Linus Loh, a floral designer by profession, has been a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers since 1999. An apartment gardener since his school days, Linus' plant interests include roses, gesneraids like episcias and miniature orchids. He is also a supportive member of the Green Culture Singapore discussion forum.
