Parenting can be tough but one mother in Taiwan learnt that there are kind souls out there who are willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

She was on board a public bus in Kaohsiung, carrying her child in one arm and a bag of food in the other.

When she spilled a drink on the floor, the woman became flustered.

She was about to clean up the mess when a high school girl took over and wiped the floor clean with a pack of wet tissues.

Touched by the kind act, the mother shared her experience in a Facebook post which elicited many praises for the girl. Photo: Facebook screengrab

Touched by the kind act, the mother shared her experience in a Facebook post which elicited an outpouring of praise for the girl.

One boss of a company dealing in solar energy was so impressed by the student's selfless actions that he offered her a job after her graduation.

Meanwhile, it was reported that an undergraduate in Yunnan, China was similarly blessed with good fortune after her good deed earlier this month.

Unfamiliar with the campus, she had accidentally scratched a car while riding her scooter.

Instead of fleeing the scene or leaving a note, the 18-year-old student stood in the hot sun for over an hour to wait for the car owner's return.

All just so that she could apologise and discuss how she could compensate for damaging the Lexus saloon.

In the end, the car owner said that he did not ask for compensation because he was impressed by the young woman's sense of integrity and wished her an enriching life in university.

However, the man's friend who learnt about the incident subsequently offered to pay for her university education, although it's not clear if she accepted the offer.

It pays to be kind and honest, folks.
