AirAsia flight QZ8501's emergency door recovered

Central Kalimantan Police chief Brig. Gen. Bambang Hermanu says the joint rescue team recently located an emergency door belonging to AirAsia flight QZ8501 .

The emergency door was found by the Malaysian navy, which has joined the search and rescue mission in the Karimata Strait. The door was then handed over to the Water Police.

"The door just arrived in Kumai Port. We will send it to Basarnas [National Search and Rescue Agency] for further investigation by the KNKT [National Transportation Safety Commission]," he said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.
