Beggar in China marries seven mentally challenged women

A 59-year-old beggar who married at least seven women in Hunan, China, is said to have chained them and their children before forcing them to beg on the streets.

Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that Chu De Shi had allegedly married the women, all mentally challenged, and fathered 12 children.

Eight of his children, however, have since died while two others disappeared.

Only one of his wives and two children, aged four and 11, are staying with him. The whereabouts of his other wives were not reported.

Some well-wishers had lodged police reports against Chu. However, the police said they could not do much as they claimed he was not mentally sound.
