Boy, 2, dies after drinking excessively with dad in China

A two-year-old child died of alcohol intoxication after drinking excessively with his father in China, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Known only as Yuan Yuan, the boy's father had taken him to a gathering in Panzhihua, Sichuan province, in April.

The father met two of his friends at the restaurant where Yuan Yuan apparently consumed some 100ml of Chinese wine before passing out.

The cause of his death was due to acute respiratory failure, which was a result of alcohol intoxication.

On Wednesday, a court found the three adults guilty of negligence and sentenced them to separate jail terms of between two and three years.
