Brunei king receives Thai defence chief

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), yesterday received in audience General Tanasak Patimapragorn, the Chief of Defence Force of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.

During the audience held at Istana Nurul Iman, the monarch conferred state decoration "Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama (DPKT)" which carries the title Dato Paduka Seri to General Patimapragorn who is in the country for a working visit.

Present during the audience were His Excellency Apichart Phetcharatana, Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei, and Air Marshall Adishak Klansnoh, Deputy Chief of Defence Force of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.

Among those in attendance at the audience were Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa Hj Sirat, Deputy Minister of Defence, and Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Tawih Abdullah, RBAF Commander.

Dato Paduka Hj Hamdan Hj Abu Bakar, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, and Colonel (Rtd) Pg Dato Paduka Azmansham Pg Hj Mohamad, Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) at the Ministry of Defence were also present.

In a separate audience, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha also consented to receive in audience the wife of the Chief Defence Force, Royal Thai Armed Forces Adom Klansoh and Deputy Head of Mission, Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Siriporn Thaitrong.

Also present was spouse of the commander of RBAF, Datin Zulia Basman.
