Brunei sends condolences to Malaysia, S'pore

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday sent condolence messages to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Sri' Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, following the recent earthquake that struck Ranau in Sabah.

The message conveyed to Dato Sri' Mohd Najib and Datuk Seri Musa stated that His Majesty and the people of Brunei, are deeply saddened to hear the tragedy and extended his deepest condolences to the Prime Minister, government and the people of Malaysia, especially those affected by the incident.

His Majesty also consented to send condolence messages to Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong on the death of a Singaporean national in the earthquake.

In the message to Prime Minister Lee, His Majesty said he was very sad to hear the loss of a Singaporean national in the tragedy.

The monarch hoped the rescue operations will find success in locating the remaining Singaporeans and prayed for their safe return.

His Majesty also extended his deepest sympathies and condolences to the Prime Minister, government and people of the Singapore especially to the affected families.
