We have heard of many cases involving shark attacks on humans.

In reality, however, crocodile attacks occur more frequently, with most attacks being fatal.

Take this incident in Indonesia for example, where a crocodile dragged the corpse of a man down a river - all caught on camera.

Viewer discretion is advised as the footage below may be too much for some to handle.

According to Siakap Keli, the incident occurred in Bitan Lempake, Kabupaten Berau, East Kalimantan.

The victim disappeared on Tuesday (July 18) and was found a day later after extensive search efforts by both locals and police.

A local policeman, Iptu Faisal Hamid, told Siakap Keli that the victim was bathing in the river when he was attacked by the crocodile.

He expressed confidence that the victim died from the crocodile's attack, with the theory reinforced by the number of bite and scratch marks found on the victim.

In the video, locals can be heard shouting at the crocodile in an effort to scare it so that it would release the body.

After throwing stones and sticks at it, it eventually let go and the body was swiftly recovered.
