'Chibatman' is Japan's very own version of Batman
A 41-year-old man from Chiba, east of Tokyo, has been dressing up as Batman for the past three years to bring smiles to his city.

The caped crusader has found a new home, not in Gotham City, but Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo.

A new home heralds new beginnings, and the Japanese batman has a new moniker for himself - Chibatman.

According to Reuters, the real man behind that cloak of secrecy is a 41-year-old man who has a day job as a welder. He came up with his moniker after adding a prefix of the first three letters of Chiba. His identity is still a secret.

BBC news reported that for the past three years, Chibatman has been making his way around the streets of Chiba on his custom three-wheeled Chibatpod. His ride was designed from inspiration of the "Batpod" from the movies The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

While Chibatman is similar to Batman in the sense that they both put on their capes honourably, the former delivers smiles instead of fighting crime, according to Reuters.
