Chinese father drags son around by rope to punish him for not studying

A video has of a man dragging his son around by a rope tied around the boy's neck in China has sparked outrage online, reports Shanghaiist.

The incident occurred in China on May 24, and was recorded on camera by a bystander. The video shows the man pulling his son out of a truck and dragging the boy for a distance of about a hundred metres.

The father can be heard shouting: "Might as well treat you like a dog," as his son cries and struggles to walk.

The man later admitted to reporters that his method of punishment was inappropriate, and said he had lost his temper at his son, who had reportedly been playing all morning instead of studying.

The boy reportedly suffered superficial injuries on his hands. It is not known if his father will face charges.
