A Weibo user from Shanghai has got netizens gaping at her bizarre eye make-up.

She achieved her look using a combination of eyeshadow, mascara and a particular type of contact lens that magnifies the iris.

As a result, her unnaturally big eyes 'pop out' from her face, making her look like a character from a Japanese anime.
