BEIJING - Chinese police said the East Turkestan Islamic Movement was behind an attack at a train station in China's western city of Urumqi in late April that killed three and injured 79 people, state news agency Xinhua said on Sunday.

The brief report did not give more details. China had said the attack in its troubled Xinjiang region, home to the Muslim Uighur ethnic group, was carried out by two religious extremists who were also killed in the blast.
