Chow Yun Fat spotted helping to clear Hong Kong road after typhoon

While most people stayed at home as Typhoon Hato swept Hong Kong on Wednesday (Aug 23), there were others who were out braving the rough weather.

The signal 10 typhoon brought strong winds and rain, flooded the streets, and even uprooted some trees.

And when a fallen tree blocked a road in Kowloon, guess who helped to clear the obstruction?

Chow Yun Fat.

An eagle-eyed man spotted the veteran actor and approached him for a selfie.

In an Instagram post, he wrote: "I met Chow Yun Fat who was helping to remove a fallen tree blocking the road during the typhoon. Please be careful!"

The 62-year-old actor told Apple Daily that he was on the way home when he encountered the road obstruction.

He decided to get out of his car and clear the road so that other motorists could get home safely.

Chow is currently taking a break in Hong Kong after filming a movie in Canada.
