In a battle of the young lion versus the old lion, it was teenage sensation Christian “The Warrior” Lee who proved to be the hungrier.

The 19-year-old Singaporean knocked out 40-year-old veteran and former ONE Lightweight World Champion, Kotetsu “No Face” Boku, in their featherweight tilt at ONE: WARRIORS OF THE WORLD

The bout took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, 9 December.

Both Lee and Japan’s Boku were tentative in the very beginning of the first round.

The Singaporean made the first major move of the contest. He was able to bring the bout to the canvas, but that did not last for long.

Midway through the opening stanza, “No Face” looked to push the pace, but Lee was able to land a hard punch that dropped him. The teenager poured on knees and elbows to his down opponent, but the two stood back up. Boku, in traditional fashion, appeared unfazed.

There was another brief scrum, but Lee eventually took Boku’s back and powerfully slammed the Japanese competitor to the mat. The slam was so powerful, the impact knocked Boku out. The official stoppage time was 3:24 of round one.

Lee has yet another trademark victory under his belt, as he moves his record to 8-1. The younger brother of ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee, the Singaporean is now on a three-bout win streak, and looks set to follow in his sister’s footsteps to gold.
