Despite shoulder injury, Pacquiao back to his hometown

People's champ Manny Pacquiao returned to his hometown on Friday morning, with thousands of people expected to give him a hero's welcome despite his loss against American Floyd Mayweather Jr.

A radio report said Pacquiao and his family arrived at General Santos City airport around 8:35 a.m. onboard a Philippine Airlines flight.

Media reports said Pacquiao's mother, Dionisia, welcomed him at the airport together with his supporters and fans to give him a reception fit for a hometown hero.

The camp of Pacquiao on Thursday said he would cancel his trip to his hometown after his injured shoulder bled during his busy schedule last Wednesday, which saw him participate in a motorcade from Makati to Manila and visits to media companies in Quezon City.
