Dog tied to car's rear dies after being dragged on road in China

A video clip of a dog being dragged a considerable distance on the road in Guangdong, China, while tied to a hatchback's rear with a rope, sparked outrage among Chinese netizens.

Footage captured by another car showed the dog struggling to keep up with the moving car, and later giving up after sustaining injuries from being dragged on the road.

According to Guangzhou Daily, a netizen claimed that her friend, who witnessed the cruel act, drove closer to the car to ask the driver to stop. The driver reportedly refused to do so.

The witness also said that the dog died after the incident.

Infuriated Chinese netizens later tracked down the driver and posted his personal information online, hoping he would be punished for the act of animal cruelty.
