Chandra (Sandra) Nishani has arrived in Sri Lanka from Holland after 28 years hoping to find her mother Kuruwita Gamage Sumanawathie.

"I hope the people of my motherland, Sri Lanka, will help me trace my mother," Sandra Nishani said in Kandy.

"According to documents available with my parents in Holland, I was born at the Anuradhapura hospital on Sept. 13, 1985 and my mother Kuruwita Gamage Sumanawathie was born at Wariyapola in Kurunegala on July 15 1963. My father's name is Sunil Manage. She showed a photograph of her mother carrying her.

She said she had been given to her Dutch parents when she was only two months old. The parents in Holland, father Wim en Maryke and mother Van Pykeren had brought her up with love and care. Educated her until she found employment and got married, Sandra said.

Her husband is van de Biezen.

"I have three children. I know what a mother's love for her children is like."

She said she was in Anuradhapura and suburban areas and in Wariyapola hoping to trace her origins but failed. Now about one week has passed. She will be in Sri Lanka for another two or three weeks.
