INDONESIA - The Presidential Palace has cried foul over the publication of what it considers to be a bogus speech of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a stamp collection book.
Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam said his office could not find the original copy of the speech that was later printed in the book titled Indonesia: Through the Stamps: 1945-2012.
"We're convinced this is a fake," Dipo said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
In the book, the speech, titled "Message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia" also bears the signature of Yudhoyono.
State-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia executive director I Ketut Mardjana also gives his remarks in the book, which is sold for Rp 1 million (US$86.58) a copy.
Contacted separately, Ketut said Yudhoyono's speech and signature were authentic.
"The signature is authentic. We can sue the publisher if it is fake," Ketut said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
