Fitness instructor, 25, falls to death during rooftop photo shoot in Hong Kong

What was meant to be a harmless photo shoot went awry on Thursday (Aug 17), after a man fell off a building in Hong Kong and died.

Will Kong Wai, 25, was conducting a photo shoot with two models on the 12th floor of Li Dong Building in the city's Central district at the time, local media reported.

The fitness trainer was standing on railings to take photographs when he fell to his death at about 9am, said South China Morning Post (SCMP).

Apple Daily reported that the man is believed to have climbed onto a narrow railing and lost his footing.

Kong was found unconscious on the fourth floor of the building and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to Coconuts Hong Kong.

The man was helping a fellow photographer take pictures of two other fitness instructors, a 27-year-old expatriate and a Hong Kong woman, 25, police told SCMP.

A police spokesman also said investigations showed nothing suspicious surrounding Kong's death.

According to Kong's Facebook page, he had studied in both Hong Kong as well as the UK.

A fitness trainer with four years of experience, Kong picked up prizes at several bodybuilding competitions, most recently at the Macau Global Classic Invitational on Aug 15, said Coconuts Hong Kong.
