Flash floods destroyed at least three houses and engulfed dozens of houses in Balukang I and Balukang II villages in North Sojol district, Donggala regency, Central Sulawesi, on Saturday night.
"Three houses were damaged. But with the rain still pouring, more houses could be destroyed," Abdul Aziz told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.
Aziz said the flood occurred when a river near Bode village overflowed. It had been heavily raining there since Saturday morning.
He said dozens of residents whose houses had been submerged in the flood had moved to nearby residents' houses on higher ground.
