A video of an extreme scene of "marriage teasing" in China's Shandong province is being circulated widely online.
In the video, the groom's friends stripped off his clothes and strapped him to a traffic pole in the middle of a busy road. They then pelted the poor man with eggs and cake, reported Shanghaiist.
The scene drew a large crowd who gathered around to watch.
After around five minutes, the crowd began to disperse and the groom was released.
He was reportedly in such a hurry to leave that he left his pants behind at the scene, NetEase reported.
The wedding crew left behind a dirty mess, with egg shells strewn all over the ground and egg stains and bits of cake smeared on the pole and road.
The incident also caused some traffic congestion because the group had stopped and parked their vehicles on the side of the road.
According to Shanghaiist, marriage teasing is a traditional custom in some parts of China, where newlyweds take part in strange and sometimes ridiculous activities designed by their friends and relatives.
