SARAWAK - AN elderly woman faced a terrifying five minutes as she struggled with a crocodile before managing to free herself, reported Harian Metro.
Manggin Nueng, 65, of Bekenu, Sarawak, was finishing her laundry at the banks of Sungai Suai when the crocodile latched onto her right leg.
"It tried to drag me into the middle of the river but I began kicking it. After five minutes, it let go of my leg and I swam to shore with a bloodied leg," said Manggin of the 3.30pm incident on Monday.
Her daughter, who was nearby, helped her ashore.
"This is the first time anyone has been attacked by a crocodile in this area," said Manggin, who is recuperating at Miri Hospital.
