India gets most overseas remittances

The World Bank in its latest issue of the Migration and Development Brief said India received US$70 billion (S$87 billion) in 2013 from overseas workers.

This is the highest any country got as remittance from overseas workers.

India was followed by China with US$60 billion and the Philippines with US$25 billion.

International migrants from developing countries are expected to send US$436 billion in remittances to their home countries this year.
