CIPUTAT, South Tangerang - Police searched a house in Rempoa, Ciputat, South Tangerang, on Wednesday following a shootout that led to the deaths of six terrorist suspects on New Year's Eve.

National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said the house was rented and occupied by Dayat Kacamata, a terrorist suspect killed in a firefight in Kampung Sawah, also in Ciputat, the day earlier.

The search was conducted following information given by a terrorist suspect arrested during the raid in Kampung Sawah on Tuesday.

"The location of the searched house is not far from the raided house in Kampung Sawah. It was believed some explosives were kept there," he explained.

Yanto, a local resident, said Dayat was reclusive and that no one knew his real identity.

"I was told by the police to stay away as a raid would be carried out," he said as quoted by Antara news agency.

Following the shootout in Kampung Sawah on Tuesday, the Densus 88 counterterrorism unit discovered chemical substances and electronic equipment believed to be bomb components.

They also discovered six pipe bombs, six guns and five machetes in the raid
