Jaycee Chan to be released on Feb 14 from jail
UNDER 'ENORMOUS' STRESS: Jaycee Chan during his trial at the Dongcheng District People's Court in Beijing on Friday. In his letter, he complained of his father's "insufficient love" for him as he told his mother why he had used drugs.

Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that Jaycee Chan, who received a six-month jail term and fined 2,000 yuan (S$430.50) for abuse and illegal possession of marijuana at his Beijing home last August, would be released on Feb 14.

His father, international action movie star Jackie Chan, said he and his wife Lin Feng-jiao would not pick him up from the prison in Beijing. When asked about Jaycee's next move, Jackie said he would leave it to his son's lawyer.

"He is an adult, and should be able to look after himself. Do not live under my shadow," he was quoted by the daily.

But the daily also reported that Lin was busy overseeing renovation works at her house in Taipei in the hope that it would be ready for Jaycee to move in upon his release.
