Junta sets up panel to prepare Thailand for Asean Community

Thailand - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) on Monday issued an announcement that it was setting up a centre to prepare Thailand to be part of the ASEAN Community.

Deputy NCPO chief General Tanasak Patimapragorn was appointed chairman of the centre, which will look into the three pillars of the ASEAN Community including politics and security, economic and social issues and cultural aspects.

In another announcement, the NCPO appointed a committee to work on the policies related to development of special economic zones.
