CHINA - A bookstore in Nanjing recently sparked discussion among locals when large posters of attractive women reading in the nude were displayed prominently throughout the store.
When interviewed, female patrons were unfazed by the alluring posters, one of them said that the models were sufficiently covered by the books they posed with. Meanwhile, a male patron expressed discomfort with the photos and commented that the focus of a book store should be on the books.
The bookstore's manager explained the concept behind the photo exhibition as an attempt to encourage readers to be more open-minded while reading for a more engaging experience. He also hoped that patrons would enjoy reading printed books and browsing the physical store.
What do you think? Is this a creative marketing campaign or cheap trick to garner publicity?
