A 54-year-old man was arrested in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on May 18 for allegedly beheading his 52-year-old sister with a kitchen knife outside their home.

The public decapitation had apparently been triggered by a quarrel between the two siblings, after the sister refused to go for her medical appointment.

According to Shanghaiist, horrified neighbours screamed as they watched the horror that unfolded before their eyes and saw the woman's severed head on the pavement.

An eyewitness also recounted how the woman went down on her knees to beg for her life.

Lin had been caring for his mentally ill sister for years. The two were both unmarried and lived together.
