Megawati denies crying over presidential debate

JAKARTA - Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri denied that she shed tears of joy upon the conclusion of the televised presidential debate between presidential pairs Joko "Jokowi" Widodo-Jusuf Kalla and Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa on Saturday night.

"You are wrong. I had the flu," Megawati said during a post-debate press conference.

Megawati was seen shedding tears and wiping her nose with a napkin on one occasion during the debate.

Megawati said that she was tired from traveling on the campaign trail and said she was happy that the campaign period was finally over.

"I am so happy. This is the moment that the Indonesian people have been waiting for," she said.

Many have said that Jokowi and Kalla delivered a strong performance during the final televIndonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri denied that she shed tears of joy upon the conclusion of the televised presidential debate between presidential pairs Joko "Jokowi" Widodo-Jusuf Kalla and Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasaised debate, which centered on the topics of food, energy and the environment.

Prabowo, meanwhile, was often at a loss and it was very clear that he was struggling to control his temper, especially when he was cornered with questions from Jokowi and Kalla.
