'Miracle baby' recovering well after gory accident

A baby, who was forcibly expelled from his mother's womb when the woman was crushed by a truck in an accident, miraculously survived and is making good progress in hospital, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The newborn, weighing 4.5kg now, has almost recovered from injuries after he received treatment at the hospital after the gruesome road accident in Xiamen, Fujian, on March 18.

Quoting news reports, the daily said his parents were on a motorcycle when they collided with a truck and witnesses claimed that the truck ran over the woman's upper torso, forcing the baby out of the womb.

The "miracle baby" is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a week, but his guardians have not yet been determined as both parents died on the spot.
