Monkeys captured inside Chennai airport

TWO monkeys gave the Chennai airport authorities a hard time recently. They managed to enter the airport building on Jan 25 and were spotted in the departure hall of the domestic terminal.

After much effort, one was captured on the same day but it was not until Jan 27 that the second one was rounded up. Forest officials first placed a cage with fruits inside the terminal but the monkey refused to go anywhere near it.

Later, they placed a monkey inside the cage along with the fruits. This worked and the elusive monkey was captured. The forest officials, who arrived at the airport on Jan 25, worked on shifts to keep a watch on the monkey's movements.

Officials plan to let the monkeys go free in the forest soon. Chennai airport officials are still wondering how the monkeys managed to find their way into the airport terminal.
