Motorola's delivery after Lenovo takeover

WORLD- Last year's Moto X took quite a while to arrive in Southeast Asia. In fact, I only started seeing the handset becoming available in this region after February 2014, which is sad, because the Moto X (2013 version) was a very refined device, for its time.

With Google Now at the heart of its ecosystem, Moto X was the frontrunner in terms of voice activated commands.

Now, in 2014, comes Motorola's new Moto X, still with a concept similar to the first, but with some improvement

The August 2013 model came with specs that are all lower than other brands' flagship models. It wasn't the best, but Motorola made sure that the system was smooth, you get a pure un-altered Android experience, and it came with many covers. It wasn't made with a premium feel like the other higher-end handsets.

But the 2014 model, is a a whole different story. It comes with a larger 5.2-inch AMOLED that has a 1080p full HD resolution (it was 720p in the previous gen model, which was crazy), and it has a Gorilla Glass 3 glass up front that has resulted in a longer and wider phone but has over the year, become slimmer.

A 5.2-inch screen size is pretty decent, because you still get a good one-hand usability on the phone, and the thinner built of the new Moto X makes it easy to be held with just one hand.

With its current size, the phone's screen has a 423 pixels per inch (ppi) resolution, and works extremely well even under bright light. Typical to all AMOLED screens, the blacks on the phone are deep, giving a high contrast from the other colours.

The phone's bezels are kept thin, which really reminds me of the LG G2, especially on the left and right sides, which makes the phone easier to hold.

The phone is now built with an aluminium frame, which is really nice, on the sides, and on the back. Although, it's really up to you. Leather, polycarbonate, wood, and the list goes on; you have many options to choose from for your back casing. A total of 17 options are available for the plastic back panels, whilst for wooden back panels you'll get four choices and also four leather options.
