Newborn survives fall through train toilet

MALAYSIA - A newborn miraculously survived after slipping through a toilet hole soon after birth on a train in Kolhapur, North India.

Tamil Nesan reported that Rehana Bibi was travelling on the Lalgola passenger train when she went into labour in the toilet at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

The train was pulling into Plassey station at the time. The baby boy fell through the filthy discharge chute and landed on the tracks.

Rehana screamed for her mother, Afroza Bibi, who was waiting at the door.

"We started crying for help from the other passengers. Thankfully, some people stopped the train and rescued the child," said Afroza.

The child was taken to a nearby clinic where a doctor confirmed that both he and the mother were doing fine.
