ONE Championship And Turner Sports Announce North American TV Deal

ONE Championship is expanding its footprint in North America in a major way.

On Thursday, 13 December, the world’s largest martial arts organization announced it had struck a three-year agreement with Turner Sports to air content in the United States.

Now, North American audiences will have access to ONE content across a variety of Turner properties, including TNT and B/R Live.

B/R Live, which is Turner’s live sports streaming service, will be the primary destination for live ONE Championship events.

The streaming service will first broadcast ONE: ETERNAL GLORY, live from Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday, 19 January. That will soon be followed by the 24 live events already scheduled for 2019.

B/R Live will also distribute shoulder programming surrounding the live event experience, while TNT will televise at least 12 one-hour, taped re-airs featuring ONE events throughout the year.

Turner is one of the major TV networks of North American cable television with its reach extending to millions of households in the United States and around the globe.

Its lineup of TV channels and media brands include Bleacher Report, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), to name a few.

Turner Sports is also home to the NBA, and it produces premium sporting content such as golf’s PGA Championship and UEFA Champions League soccer.

This news caps a major year in ONE Championship history.

The company made headlines when it signed mixed martial arts superstars Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, who were introduced to fans in Singapore this past November.

Martial arts prodigy “Super” Sage Northcutt and Japanese-Korean legend Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama also joined the roster, while women’s mixed martial arts icon Miesha Tate recently came on as a vice president.
