A matchmaking event in Shanghai has attracted more than 1,600 anxious parents hunting for partners for their children, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The organiser had to turn away 1,200 parents as the venue could only take 400 people, it reported.
The parents were seen mingling around to look for suitable partners for their children.
Some even went on stage to "promote" their children.
A father told the crowd he hoped his 27-year-old son, a graduate of Fudan University in Shanghai would marry a girl whose family had assets worth at least RMB5million (S$1million).
He said he would like a girl born after 1987 and be at least 1.65cm in height.
The video clip of the father making the request has gone viral on the Internet.
