Petchmorrakot Wor. Sangprapai is looking to make it two out of two when he returns to ONE Super Series action on Saturday, 6 October.

The two-weight Lumpinee Stadium World Muay Thai Champion will face debutant Alaverdi “Dagger” Ramazanov in a bantamweight bout at Bangkok, Thailand’s Impact Arena, and he is excited to continue his career in ONE Championship’s new striking-only series.

“Fighting for ONE has been like a dream for me, and getting to fight in Thailand makes it that much better,” the 24-year-old Thai says.

“I will not disappoint.”

Ramazanov is based in Pattaya, Thailand and is a three-time IFMA World Champion and has appeared regularly on MAX Muay Thai in Thailand.

Petchmorrakot has a wealth of experience in Muay Thai, with more than a decade of competition and more than three times the number of contests under his belt.

The Thai star is confident, but guarded, ahead of the contest, because the pair will be trading leather in four-ounce mixed martial arts gloves, rather than the usual Muay Thai boxing gloves.

“He is a well-rounded fighter, but I am going into this fight very relaxed,” he says.

“The mixed martial arts gloves worry me a bit, but I am confident in my abilities.”

Ramazanov has a respected record and a strong martial arts background from his homeland in Russia, but Petchmorrakot is a significant step up from his previous level of competition.

The Petchyindee Academy product is a full-time Muay Thai competitor, and he says he is feeling the benefits of being able to concentrate all his efforts on his career.

“I just eat, sleep, and train,” he says.

“It is easy for me to focus.”

He made a splash on his ONE Super Series debut with a second-round TKO finish of former training partner Fabrice Fairtex Delannon at ONE: PINNACLE OF POWER, and now he is looking to repeat the feat with a similarly impressive performance against Ramazanov.

“I will win by KO in Bangkok, either by elbow or body kick. I don’t know for sure, but I will do it,” he says.
