Police find ringleaders of behind Monas riot

he police arrested five people on Monday evening for allegedly masterminding a recent riot at the Lenggang Jakarta food court and souvenir centre at the National Monument (Monas) compound.

"One of the five people is pregnant. We found provocative text messages on her mobile phone, which invited her accomplices to join the riot. Two others have been detained for damaging property, while the remaining two have been released while we collect evidence," Jakarta Police head Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian said on Tuesday.

He added that the pregnant woman was later released due to her pregnancy.

"We will go deeper to find out if they are street vendors or illegal middlemen for business," Tito added.
