Pretty recruits sign up for service at Thai military recruitment centre

In Thailand, all male citizens must enter a conscription lottery after they turn 21.

If they pull a black card they can go about their lives. But if they pull a red card they must join the military.

If they join because they pulled a red card they are not allowed to choose which branch of the military they join.

However, there are still many Thais who join the military willingly, and that includes some females who choose a career in the army.

Those who join on their own accord are allowed to choose which branch they want to serve in.
