The Prisons Department in Kerala has transferred 28 officers attached to the district jail in Kozhikode after five under-trial prisoners there were revealed to have regularly used mobile phones to update their Facebook accounts and make calls.
The prisoners are accused in the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T.P. Chandrasekharan in Kannur last year.
In a raid of the prison by the city police, 21 mobile phone accessories were found outside the Kozhikode District Jail compound wall.
