Rich man in China who stabbed wife over 30 times sentenced to death

The wealthy man in Nanjing who stabbed his 22-year-old wife to death has been sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve.

According to CRI English, Nanjing's Intermediate Court made the announcement on Friday.

The first trial found Ji Xingpeng guilty of voluntary manslaughter.

The family of the deceased found the verdict unfair and will appeal, according to the mother.

Ji stabbed his wife to death with a fruit knife in April 2013 after suspecting that she was cheating on him. Ji was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The couple had a 3-month-old daughter at the time of the wife's death. The couple had met as high school classmates and were married for two years.
