Yago “Codorninha” Bryan learned a tough lesson at ONE: TOTAL VICTORY on Saturday, 16 September, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Nova Uniao product was cruising to a decision win over Roy “The Dominator” Doliguez, before getting caught in the third round with a straight left hand that separated the 25-year-old Brazilian from his senses.

Although Doliguez scored a highlight reel knockout win, he appeared in trouble during the first two stanzas.

The 35-year-old Filipino boxing champion surprisingly used kicks to control the pace of the match, but Bryan, a well-respected Muay Thai striker undefeated in the ring, disrupted his rhythm, and brought the action to the canvas.

From there, “Codorninha" landed some ground strikes and went for a few submissions, but mostly maintained top position and seemed to wear down his opponent.

Heading into the final frame, “The Dominator” needed to do something spectacular.

Sensing the need to finish the match, Doliguez, a former PBF Super Flyweight Champion, exemplified what it mean by “a puncher’s chance”. At the third-round bell, he came out with a series of jabs.

Bryan nearly finished the bout the way it started, earning another takedown as time began to run out.

Doliguez, however, got the match back to the feet, and flattened Bryan with a devastating left hand. The Brazilian crashed to the mat, with the referee following not too far behind to halt the action and call for the bell.

With the knockout, Doliguez gets his first victory inside the ONE Championship cage. He also snaps a three-bout skid and improves his professional record to 7-4. Bryan, meanwhile, falls to an even 3-3.
