S Korean President to visit Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - South Korean President Park Geun-hye will visit Brunei and Indonesia for regional cooperation summits, according to her office on Thursday.

Lee Jung-hyun, senior presidential press secretary, said Park is scheduled to attend the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nation) Summit from October 9-10, after attending the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) forum on October 7-8.

In addition, "sales diplomacy" will be one of the issues to be discussed between Brunei Darussalam and South Korea to promote both countries' economic interests and mutual understanding.

The South Korean Embassy recently offered scholarships to Bruneians to pursue undergraduate studies in South Korea next year.
