Squatting man causes toilet to break at Chinese airport

HEFEI, China - Users of public toilets might learn a lesson from one man's injury in an accident in Hefei, in eastern China's Anhui province, reported Anhuinews.com on Friday.

The man visited the restroom while he was waiting for a flight at Hefei Xinqiao International Airport on Thursday.

A few minutes later, his companion received a call asking for help. The man was found lying on the floor with his buttocks bleeding and the toilet crushed to pieces.

According to an airport staff member, the man squatted on the toilet instead of sitting on it - as many Chinese would do when there is no squatting pan available - which proved to be too heavy a load for the toilet to bear.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, but still made his flight.
