Taiwanese tourist deported from Hong Kong after bomb scare

A Taiwanese tourist was fined and deported from Hong Kong on Tuesday after creating a bomb scare at the airport there due to a flight delay, reported Kwong Wah Yit Poh.

The man was travelling with his mother and two friends from Taiwan to Bangkok via Hong Kong when heavy mist delayed their flight from Taiwan resulting in them missing their connecting flight.

They were put on an afternoon flight but the upset man was said to have told officers at the VIP lounge that one of his friends was carrying a bomb in his luggage.

Police were called in to conduct a thorough screening, causing the flight to be delayed.
