Teen blasted online after plastic surgery
NEW LOOK: Lienxi Danae, 15, has been called a "snake spirit", "demon" and "ghost" by netizens after she posted pictures of herself following full-body plastic surgery.

ZHENGZHOU, China - A 15-year-old girl in central China has attracted a barrage of unfavourable remarks online, mostly expressing disgust, after she posted pictures of herself in her social media account following full-body plastic surgery.

Many detractors said they were repelled by her bleached-white skin as it made her complexion as pale as that of an "apparition" instead of turning her into a porcelain beauty, reported Hong Kong's Apple Daily.

Some called her a "snake spirit", referring to a white serpent in Chinese mythology which could change into a beautiful woman but remain trapped in an eerily white skin, the China Daily reported.

Many also saw her Barbie-like looks following the makeover as artificial and unreal, saying it gave her a "diabolical" and "heinous" image, and the air of a "demon".

"Ghost!" exclaimed one post, while another said: "Scram, here comes a demon."

More lamented that it was a "plastic surgery failure".

But it seems the girl, who uses the name Lienxi Danae on Chinese microblogging website Sina Weibo, is not perturbed by the backlash and believes that most of the negative comments had come from females envious of her new look.

"The more praises there are, the more defamation there will be. The more you are blasted by women envious of you, the more interesting it will be," said the girl from Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, hitting back in her microblog.

"Was there any market for you when you were 15?'' she also asked provocatively.

"If not, then shut up, you're not qualified to insult me. You have to keep up with the times in today's society. You can't let yourself lose at the starting line," she wrote.
