His Majesty the King's fever has subsided after he was admitted to Siriraj Hospital on Friday with high fever, the Royal Household Bureau announced yesterday.
The statement, the first one issued after the King was readmitted to the hospital on Friday night, said His Majesty had a high fever of 38.2 degrees Celsius on Friday evening and doctors diagnosed him with blood infection and his blood pressure had changed, resulting in faster heartbeat.
The team of doctors asked His Majesty to travel from Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin to Siriraj Hospital for treatment and for further check-up.
After receiving intravenous therapy, His Majesty had stable blood pressure yesterday morning and the fever subsided while he had better nutrition conditions, the Royal Household Bureau said in its statement.
The statement said doctors had performed further examination with special equipment in an attempt to determine the cause of the blood infection for further treatment.
