Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha will be travelling to South Korea next week to attend ASEAN-South Korea Summit.
The meeting will take place between December 10 and 12 in Busan city.
Ten ASEAN leaders and the South Korean counterpart will discuss the progress of their economic and peace cooperation under the strategic partnership scheme.
South Korea currently had an important role as a major investor in sub-regions. It added that Seoul also intended to expand investment to ASEAN countries, with Thailand acting as the centre of economy and transportation in the region.
Thai government, meanwhile, is planning to revise rules and regulations concerning shipping in order to promote and facilitate trade within the region.
ASEAN countries and South Korea will also celebrate their 25th anniversary of friendship with a series of activities throughout the year.
