HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is planning to donate the more than Bt26 million (S$1 million) in salary and other remuneration she has received from Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA) over the past 35 years to the CRMA Foundation for educational purposes and development of the academy.

General Chanchai Yotsunthorn, a former chief of the academy, yesterday confirmed messages on social media that the Princess would do this.

"She will donate Bt7 million first, and will make subsequent donations over time," he said.

The Princess officially retired from the service at the end of last month.

"But she will continue to come to CRMA for various functions and educational work," Chanchai said.
