Three Questions That Will Be Answered At ONE: FOR HONOR

Three Questions That Will Be Answered At ONE: FOR HONOR

On Friday, 3 May, ONE Championship returns to Jakarta, Indonesia for another world-class martial arts showcase.

The Istora Senayan will play host to ONE: FOR HONOR, which will feature a World Title bout and a host of local and international talents performing in the ONE Circle.

As we gear up for the event, there are three questions we look forward to getting answered on Friday evening.

#1 Can The Rising Phenom Score An Upset Over A Living Legend?

Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao will defend his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship for the very first time against a young prodigy in Jonathan “The General” Haggerty.

Sam-A, who trains out of Evolve, added the inaugural ONE Super Series World Title to his vast trophy collection when he knocked out Sergio “Samurai” Wielzen last May at ONE: Unstoppable Dreams in Singapore.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old English challenger isn’t fazed by the living legend’s credentials. He is entering the five-round bout with tremendous confidence in the skills that helped him become one of the top flyweights in the world.

Is the future now, or will the legend continue to reign supreme?

#2 Will Yushin Okami Deliver In His ONE Debut?

Yushin-Okami.jpg

After taking his talents all over the world, Japanese veteran Yushin “Thunder” Okami has finally made it back to his home continent through the world’s largest martial arts organization.

The 37-year-old has compiled an impressive professional record of 35-12 throughout a career that has spanned almost two decades.

He faces a daunting task in his first assignment, as Kyrgyzstan’s Kiamrian Abbasov is riding high off his 20th career victory last December, when he dominated Malaysian hero Agilan Thani to submission at ONE: DESTINY OF CHAMPIONS.

Who will take one step closer to Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam’s ONE Welterweight World Championship?

#3 Can The Featherweights Make A Statement?

Keanu-Subba-IMG_8672.jpg

As Christian “The Warrior” Lee prepares to challenge for the ONE Lightweight World Title, the road to Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen’s ONE Featherweight World Championship just became a bit more open.

Malaysia’s Keanu Subba will try to make the most out of the opportunity when he welcomes Shooto Pacific Rim Featherweight Champion Ryogo Takahashi to the promotion.

The 24-year-old Monarchy MMA product expressed excitement in getting to compete again after six months away from the ONE Circle, but he will have a formidable opponent in Takahashi, whose last loss came in October 2014.

Can the winner’s performance propel him closer to the division’s top prize?
