Train hits and kills 'absent-minded' woman at Bangkok intersection

A 40-year-old woman was killed by a train in Ratchathewi in Bangkok yesterday during the morning rush hour - a tragedy which lead to traffic jams at the Yommarat Intersection and the delay of some trains.

Scavenger Sirirak Penglao reportedly appeared absent-minded while walking across the rail line near Yommarat Station.

Witnesses told police that she walked on, despite several horn blasts from a Chachoengsao-Bangkok train that was heading towards her and hit her. She died instantly.
